GLENVILLE, WVรขย€ย”The Nรขย€ย™Tranze Band, featuring Glenville State College Assistant Professor of Music Jason Barr, will give a free concert at the GSC Rusty Musket on Thursday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m. followed by an encore performance at the Pioneer Grille on Friday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m.

Barr played with the group for fifteen years as part of the house band for the Myrtle Beach House of Blues before becoming a part of the GSC community over two years ago.

รขย€ยœI received a call from a former band leader a few months ago asking if I would like to join them for a wedding gig at the Greenbrier Hotel. I figured while they were in West Virginia, why not have them play in Glenville for a couple of nights?  Iรขย€ย™m pleased to say it has come together, and we hope that GSC students and the community will take advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy a little slice of Myrtle Beach Blues pie without having to drive eight hours to get it!รขย€ย Barr stated.

Barr teaches music theory and general music education classes, gives private saxophone lessons, and has started up a jazz combo and saxophone quartet with students.
