Hidden Promise Scholars Program
Hidden Promise Scholars (HPS) are students in the eighth through twelfth grade who hold the hidden promise for central West Virginia. Selected by county superintendents and principals, these students will interact with ย้ถนสำฦตนูอ๘ students and faculty and explore the vistas that a college education opens. Hidden Promise Scholars will mentor with college students at their home schools and participate in an array of campus visits.
Upon high school graduation, Hidden Promise Scholars enrolling at ย้ถนสำฦตนูอ๘ will receive an annual $1,000 scholarship. The annual grant is renewable throughout their enrollment at GSU as full-time students maintaining standard academic progress. The Hidden Promise Scholars program is the result of an alliance of ย้ถนสำฦตนูอ๘ and county school districts across West Virginia and in Ohio and Connecticut. The alliance was formed to unlock the regionโs paramount โhidden promise.โ These school districts and GSU believe that increased college enrollment is the key to unlocking that potential.
Hidden Promise Scholars are encouraged to attend ย้ถนสำฦตนูอ๘ athletic events, musical performances, and theatrical performances. They are reminded to bring their college ID for free admission.
